Empowering Rural Women with Employability Skills
The program is designed for rural women and covers financial literacy, education, skill training as well as organizing them into self-help groups.
The first program undertaken by Aavas Foundation under Gram Siddhi initiative is Usha-Aavas Silai School Program. Going ahead, the Foundation plans to gradually take a wider array of skills under the programme.

50 women from 50 villages trained in the first 2 batches
All 50 women have opened Silai Schools in their villages. Now they earnRs. 2,000-10,000 a month.
Each of them will train 20 women in her village. Thus, the programme will have financially empowered 1,000 women impacting 1,000 families in the pilot phase itself.
